Anderson Creek Sportsmen
June 13th, 2009 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Jeremy Smith at 7:30 p.m. on June 13th, 2009

The May minutes were presented by Randy Mitchell and approved on a motion by Shannon McKee and a second by Roy Mahlon. The treasurer’s report was presented by George McCoy and approved on a motion by Charles Bungo and a second by Andy Shaffer.

Old Business
Tom Hamilton did a very good job of presenting the $600.00 we collected to donate to Life Skills of Pa for David Kuzemchock on May 20th at the Clearfield High School.

A discussion was held covering the areas of the by-laws which will need attention and revision - wills, dues, members points and amendments.

Jeremy Smith reported he has finalized plans for the member raffle for the 4 man fishing trip to Lake Raystown. The date of the trip will be selected by the raffle winner.

New Business
The line for city water ends approximately 1 mile from the camp and would cost too much to extend to our property. James Johnston made a motion to give Bryan Brubaker permission to buy a new pump and all of the supplies necessary for installation. The motion passed on a Bud McCall second.

Andy Shaffer reported that the Wild Turkey Federation has supplied us with a bag of seed corn, which he has planted. He has also planted sunflower and turnips. Andy reported the new diesel tractor is also a lot more economical to run than the old tractor.

Carl Huss followed up on his earlier timber harvest report. He recommended that we Roundup the ferns and girdle some of the older beech trees to open up the woods for new growth.

Jim Peters will be contacting Bill Russell to get excavation estimates to make arrangements for the new pistol range.

No candidates for the one remaining opening for membership in the club were present. The next candidate on the list will be notified.

Match Reports
The rimfire match had 22 targets shot, with a lot of new faces. Dave Coudriet, Jerry Witherow, and Harp McNeel were club members who placed in the matches.

The IBS match had 9 shooters, which was a good turnout considering the matches are just getting reorganized. Brian Allen took first in Factory Class.

The Trap Shoot and Steak Feed went very well with great food and nice weather, 80 rounds were shot using 2,000 birds.

The 400 yard match had 29 targets on a very windy day. Dave Coudriet is currently the high point scorer for the plaque for highest gross points in the year.

Roy Mahlon won the $10.50 50/50 drawing.

Andy Shaffer made a motion to adjourn with a Tom Noble second.

- Respectfully submitted by Randy Mitchell, Secretary.
