The sniper match continues to get good participation, and we will continue to shoot a relay at each match.
At our test sniper match on June 10, we had seven shooters competing. Walt Kuzemchock won the match with a score of 47 out of 50. All contestants were able to keep all shots within the scoring area, no easy task with the mirage.
We may make this a complete match for next year.

1. At the next 400-Yard Deer Target Match, we will trying a new match format between relays. It will be a "Sniper Match" The target is a B34 Rev RC, a 50-foot reduced police target set at 400 yards. This is the equivalent of shooting a silhouette at 1200 yards. The firearm must be a factory rifle and shot off a bi-pod, you may use a rear bag. There are no limitations on the scope or ammo used. It is a challenging, but not impossible, target to shoot.
2. There are sign-up sheets in the club meeting room for the Kids Fishing Derby, coming up in July. There are 3 different ones. Volunteer the day of the derby, prize donations and drinks and chips.
3. If there are any members willing to rebuild the 50-yard back stop, please contact me and I will give you the dimensions and info on what needs done.
Thanks,
Tom

Wild hog kill
This is a picture of a friend of ours, Alex Pringle, with a 575 lb wild hog he harvested this past weekend near Vero Beach, Florida.
Alex took the hog with a 45 ACP at 15 feet. He told me that the hog was coming straight at him when he shot it and when it went down, it had so much forward momentum it took him off his feet.

Pond water quality is excellent
Just got the lab report on our club pond, and the water is better than most trout streams in PA. With the sighting of many fish, frogs and tadpoles in the pond and the excellent water quality report, we will start the planning stages of the "Kids Fish for Fun Derby".
Monday, March 19, 2012
