Elk jumps off bridge at Clearfield bypass

This was at the bridge near Long John Silver's restaurant at the Clearfield bypass.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18,   a bull elk started across the bridge ner the old mall.

It evidently panicked and jumped over the edge.

A local tow truck operator hoisted the animal out of the river and estimated its weight at 1,000 lbs.
