Anderson Creek Sportsmen
July
14h, 2012 Meeting Minutes
Meeting
was called to order by Tom Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on July 14th, 2012
Rick Knisley has repaired the tractor and donated
his 4 hours of time spent to the club. Tom Hamilton anticipates about 100 kids
for the Youth Fishing Derby to be held on July 28th. Tom will get
the hot dogs and condiments and Ed Spencer has been getting prizes. Guests and
members are reminded not to bring dogs to the fishing derby. Marty Hrin needs to know where to drill the
holes for the 50 yard back stop. If a member does not have 2 books of raffle
tickets by the August meeting, they will be sent to the member. Carl Huss has
built a new door for the trap house.
Scott Brubaker has requested permission to put in an
archery range, after a discussion permission was granted. There will be a work
party on 7/21/12 starting at 10:00 am in order to get the club ready for the
Fishing Derby. Walt Kuzemchock suggested we construct a new target for patterning
shotguns to the right of the 50 yard range in order to reduce the damage done
to the 50 yard target by shotgun pellets. Breck Neeper made a motion for the
new target and it passed on a Tom Noble second after a discussion was held
about what was needed for construction.
Steve McClure donated a solid steel
gong for the 400 yard range. Joel Dutra is taking a group of young shooters to
the National Matches in Camp Perry and thanked the club for allowing them to
practice at the club ranges. Joel Dutra
discussed the construction of a new outdoor small bore range, and the
availability of NRA grant money for such a project. He will review and present
a proposal at a future meeting. Marty Hrin presented information on the August
19th, 2012 PWHU pig roast to be held at the Dubois Lions Club park.
Tickets are $20.00 and sponsor packages are available for $250.00. Steve
Beretsel reported on the repair of the lawnmower and advised members that if
the mowers need repair to contact him.
The scheduled
rimfire matches have not been suspended as previously reported.
Respectfully
submitted by Randy Mitchell secretary.
