Anderson Creek Sportsmen
July 11, 2015 Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order by Tom Hamilton at 7:30 p.m.
The June minutes were presented by Randy Mitchell and approved on a motion by Joel Dutra and a second by Breck Neeper. The treasurer’s report was presented by Jeremy Smith and approved on a motion by Wayne Hicks and a second by Paul Gray.
Match Results
The Deer Rifle Match had 30 shooters and the Round Target match had 28 shooters. Action Graphics is printing the Groundhog Targets on a heavier paper.
Old Business
The fishing derby was a big success with over 150 people attending. There were 36 kids and every kid got a prize. There was a 17” bass caught and a bass caught on a 2” bluegill that was being reeled in. The wives of Tom Hamilton, Ed Spencer and Wayne Hicks rode around and served hot dogs throughout the day and had a great time.
Wayne Hicks has serviced the tractor. Shannon McKee has torn down the old sign and the new sign looks very good.
We still need a volunteer to run the IBS style matches for next year.
New Business
The NWTF representative was unable to attend our meeting but requested that we provide several dates for their Youth Chukar hunt. The hunt will be limited to 25 kids. There will be a safety meeting in the morning with the hunt in the afternoon. Several dates in September and early October were discussed and provided to the NWTF.
Walt Kuzemchock made a motion to have a groundskeeper position. The groundskeeper will coordinate the mowing and general cleanup around the club. The motion passed on a Scott Brubaker second and Don Farbo agreed to be the groundskeeper. The groundskeeper will serve in lieu of points and dues. Don Farbo requested that we get volunteers to help with the mowing.
Marty Hrin poured a new sidewalk in the front of the club with the help of Paul Gray. We need a volunteer to landscape around the sidewalk.
There will be a Steak Feed/Trap Shoot on July 26th with a cost of $30.00 per shooter. If you plan to attend please let Steve Beretsel at 771-8468 know by 7/19 so he can order the food.
Joel Dutra suggested that we form a Second Amendment Fund to be used for gun education and supporting our gun rights. After a discussion about funding and organization a decision was made to give the idea some thought and discuss it at the next meeting.
We still have a lot of work that needs done at the club:
General cleanup.
The flue in the gun room needs repaired.
The picnic tables need sealed.
The overflow pipe in the pond needs repaired.
And as always MOWING.
Shannon McKee won the door prize.
Carles Bungo made a motion to adjourn and the motion was seconded by Roger Thomas.
Respectfully submitted by Randy Mitchell secretary.
