400-Yard Deer Hunter Matches

Deer Rifle Class:

• sporter barreled actions, with functional safety, muzzle brakes allowed
• stock suitable for hunting use - no benchrest stocks or adapters
• stock bedding or replacement allowed: trigger adjustment or replacement allowed
• minimum bullet diameter 6MM - no match or hollowpoint bullets.
• scope power: 10X fixed or variable set to 10X (scope power settings may not be changed during the match)
• spotting scopes may be used

A TROPHY WILL BE AWARDED IN THIS CLASS AT THE END OF THE SEASON

Factory Varmint Class:

• unmodified factory (not custom shop) heavy barreled (V/T) rifles with functioning safety
• bedding of factory stock and trigger adjustment (not replacement) allowed
• no benchrest stocks, benchrest adapters or flat bottom Savage rifles
• any factory caliber, any bullet, any scope power

Unlimited Class:

• any rifle, any centerfire caliber under .40 any, any bullet, any scope

Course of Fire:

• Match fee: $5.00 per target
• 400 yards at "life size deer" target (scored 5, 3, 1 and 0 points)
• 5 shots per target in 10 minutes, no sighter shots
• LOWEST 5 holes scored on each target
• firing from the bench with separate front and rear rests
• club provided wind flags
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places paid in deer rifle, factory varmint and unlimited class

A TROPHY WILL BE AWARDED FOR THE HIGHEST SCORE USING A BIPOD

IF YOU CANNOT KEEP ALL OF YOUR SHOTS WITHIN THE BACKSTOP, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE

30 caliber Class:

• any 30 caliber rifle, any ammunition, any power scope

Unlimited Class:

• any rifle, any centerfire caliber under .40, any bullets, any power scope

Course of Fire:

• match fee: $5.00 per target
• 400 yards on an IBS 300 yard score target (bullseye with sighter)
• 5 shots on record target with unlimited sighters, 10 minute time limit
• LOWEST 5 holes on target will be scored
• all firing from the bench with separate front and rear rests
• club provided wind flags
• spotting scopes allowed
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd places paid in 22 caliber, 30 caliber and unlimited class

A TROPHY WILL AWARDED FOR THE HIGHEST SCORE USING A BIPOD.
