Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Jeremy Smith at 7:34 p.m.
Minutes of the September 11, 2010 meeting were presented by acting secretary Joel Dutra. A motion by Jeremy Smith seconded by George McCoy to accept, the minutes were approved.
The treasurer’s report was presented by George McCoy. A motion passed to accept the report and pay the bills.
Old Business:
Jeremy reported that the new trap is installed but that he suggests we wait to purchase the loading carousel in the spring because of the warranty terms. The proposal was accepted by consensus.
A raffle proposal was given by Joel, a 6-gun/money raffle with 2,000 tickets to be drawn at the March meeting. Tickets will be $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00. Additional cash prizes of $100.00 will be given for each 100 tickets sold after the 1st 1000, the 6th prize will be the only prize with no cash option. Prizes will be: 1st a Remington 70 or $499.00, 2nd Weatherby Vanguard or $350.00, 3rd Rugar L.C.P. or $250.00, 4th Leupold 4x12 or $200.00, 5th Smith & Wesson 22 Sport pistol or $150.00 and 6th Remington Model 5, 17 HMR (no cash option).
A motion to proceed with the raffle was made by Charles Bungo and seconded by Andy Shaffer, motion passed.
President Smith reported on a letter from the I.R.S. that informed us that our application for tax exemption would probably be rejected as submitted. Randy Mitchell and Greg Yutsey are doing additional research and will continue to report.
New Business:
Andy Shaffer advised he had put the lime in the pond. Also, Andy says the tractor brakes are very poor. The break system is a wet brake and he will check on prices to have it repaired.
A thank you card was received from Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church for the donation from the club in remembrance of John Morgan.
There was discussion on the updating of the internet site and Jeremy will talk to Randy and Dennis.
A motion was made by Breck Neeper and seconded by Shannon to approve a members-only raffle, passed, and Walt will handle it. Tickets will be available at the November meeting.
Andy Shaffer will be setting coyote traps and advises members to watch their dogs if on camp property. He also asked to be able to remove the pear tree that interferes with the tractor shed. After discussion approval was given by consensus.
Match Reports:
Walt reported that the last match had light attendance, probably because of the windy conditions, but hoped tomorrow's match would have more shooters.
The chucker hunt had 10 squads with an approximate profit of $400.
Scott Brubaker motion seconded by Jim Johnson to adjourn passed at 8:15.
The 50/50 was won by Joel Dutra and was donated back to the club.
