November, 2009 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Jeremy Smith at 7:30 p.m. on November 14th, 2009

The October minutes were presented by Randy Mitchell and approved on a motion by Bob McClure and a second by Joel Dutra. The treasurer’s report was presented by George McCoy and approved on a motion by Shannon McKee and a second by Breck Neeper.

Old Business
The upcoming gun raffle was discussed and has been scheduled for February after the spring sale at Grice’s. Walt Kuzemchock has organized a members-only drawing, tickets are available to members only and are $15.00 each. The prize is a Browning T-Bolt Varmint in 22 long rifle. Craig Poff of Iberdrola Resources has reported that we are not in consideration for a windmill. A letter from Atwell-Hicks has been received reporting that our land is to be surveyed for the upcoming windmill project. The fields have been limed and the pond has also received lime. The tire chains have been received and will be installed this week. Bryan Brubaker is to be contacted to service the furnace and Randy Mitchell will arrange for 10 gallons of fuel for the furnace.

New Business
Jim Johnston reported that Colleen Shannon with the Land Management Division of the Pennsylvania Game Commission is available to give us advice on managing are grounds and advice on planting, etc. We will try to schedule for her to speak at one of our meetings early in the year. Tom Noble, Ray Noble and Jeremy Smith were guides for the recent PA Wilds hunt in the Quehanna Wild area. They assisted hunters from the New York, Texas and various other states. On a motion by Tom Hamilton and a second by Jim Johnston, a motion was approved to send a donation of $100.00 to Jack Igou who recently lost his house due to a house fire. Jack has participated in many of our shooting competitions. A call was made for nominations of officers for the upcoming year, please write any nominations you may have on the club blackboard.

Match Reports
Walt reported that a 10-year-old girl placed third in the recent 400 yard match. Tom Hamilton was presented a plaque for high score in the deer rifle matches.

The $12 50/50 was won by Dave Coudriet

Roger Thomas made a motion to adjourn with a Tom Hamilton second.
