July 11th, 2009 Meeting Minutes


Meeting was called to order by Jeremy Smith at 7:30 p.m. on July 11th, 2009

The June minutes were presented by Randy Mitchell and approved on a motion by Bob Huston and a second by Bob McClure. The treasurer’s report was presented by George McCoy and approved on a motion by Roy Mahlon and a second by Roger Thomas.

Old Business
Bryan Brubaker installed the new water pump. Jeremy Smith reported he is raising 400 chukars for our next chukar hunt. Jeremy has received the tickets for the Raystown fishing trip. Only 200 tickets were printed and are available now.

Tom Hamilton made a motion to purchase a new mower deck for the old lawn mower for $75 if it fits our mower. The motion passed on a George McCoy second. Bud McCall volunteered to take the mower to Grampian to see if the deck will fit. Jim Johnston and James Peters have not been able to reach Bill Russell concerning excavation for the pistol range.

New Business
Randy Mitchell urged all members to contact him to update their home addresses and email addresses. A special thank you from the members goes out to Ed Spencer (Sugar Bear) and his wife for the excellent job of cleaning the camp. Walt Kuzemchock made a motion to let Jim Johnston have the old wind flags for a donation to the club, the motion passed on a Jerry Witherow second.

James Peters reported on a new format pistol match which he attended in State College called the Real Defense Practice match, and the potential for the match to become a national match format.

Members are reminded to not mow on the 400 yard range unless you talk to Tom Noble, we need to leave some cover for the fall chukar hunt. Tom Noble reminds members that there will be a Trap Shoot & Steak Feed on Sunday, July 19th, at 10 a.m. at a cost of $25.00 per shooter.If you haven't already done so, please contact Tom immediately in order for him to have time to order steaks. John Armstrong was installed as a new member, which brings our roster to a full 50 members.

Match Reports
The Rim Fire match had 19 targets shot which was down slightly because of a conflict with the state championship. Dave Coudriet and Bryan Brubaker were club members who placed in the matches.

The IBS match had 6 shooters, Brian Allen took first in Factory Class.

The 400 yard match had 43 targets Dave Coudriet and Tom Hamilton were the club members who placed.

Tom Hamilton made a motion to adjourn with a Steve McClure second.
