Deer Rifle Challenge RESULTS 10/20/24

We held our 400 yard Deer Rifle Challenge match today, 10/20, and Rick Taylor of Clearfield was crowned the 2024 Deer Rifle Champion.

Groundhog Match RESULTS 10/13/24

We held our final Groundhog Match of the year on 10/13. The wind was calm, but we had rain off and on. There were 24 shooters competing today.

  Coming out on top of the Custom Class with a near perfect score, 199 out of a possible 200, was Frank Carrier  of Summerville. Second was a tie between Jeremiah Keefe of Hastings and Mike Hagan of Rimersburg.

  The hot gun in the Factory Varmint Class was David Shaw of Curwensville. Second was Rick Taylor of Clearfield and third was Charles Delp of Brookville.

  Jim Wonders, of Johnstown, won the group match with a great 5 shot group at 300 yards that measured a tight .546".

  Next week is the Deer Rifle Challenge. Full size deer targets at 400 yards. The public, and members, are welcome to compete.

Keefe Bounty COLLECTED!

The bounty on Jeremiah Keefe has been collected! Jeff Gates of Altoona and Frank Carrier of Summerville tied for first and dethroned Keefe. Jeremiah did manage to finish second.

  David Shaw of Curwensville was the Factory Varmint Class winner.

  Charles Delp of Brookville won the side group match with a 5 shot group, at 400 yards, that measured 1.087".

Groundhog Match RESULTS 9/15/24

We held our monthly Groundhog Match today, 9/15, and there were 26 competitors shooting.

  For the 3rd match in a row, Jeremiah Keefe, of Hastings, came out on top of the Custom Class.  Second place went to Frank Carrier of Summerville and third was Kim Weidler of Loganton.

  Factory Varmint Class was won by Carl Blose of Marion Center. Second place went to Ed Rethi of Dixonville and third was Shaun Letham of Marion Center.

  The side group match was won by Keefe with a 5 shot group, at 400 yards, that measured 1.186".

CHUCKAR HUNT 9/29

We will be holding our annual "chuckar hunt" on September 29th. There are still some open spots. If interested, call Tom Noble at (814) 590-9431.

Deer Match RESULTS 08/18/24

We held our monthly Deer Target Match today, the 18th. 20 shooters attended.

  Jeremiah Keefe, of Hastings, continues to have the hot gun and for the 2nd week in a row he earned top honors in the Custom Class.

  There was a 3 way tie for second place between Jeff Gates of Altoona, Mike Huth of Punxsutawney and Dean Brosius of Punxsutawney.

  Ed Rethi of Dixonville took 1st in the Factory Varmint Class, 2nd place went to David Shaw of Curwensville.

  The side group match we to Alvin Lee of Duncansville. He had a 5 shot group, at 400 yards, that measured 1.146".

Groundhog Match RESULTS 8/11

We held our monthly Groundhog Match on Sunday, the 11th. There were 23 shooters in attendance. The hot gun, in Custom Class, was Jeremiah Keefe of Hastings. Tied for second was Austin Sass of Olanta and Frank Carrier of Summerville.

  Ed Rethi of Dixonville took first place in Factory Varmint, followed by Barry Blose and Carl Blose both of Marion Center.

  The side group match was also won by Keefe. He fired a 5 shot group, at 300 yards, that measured .981".

Deer Target Match RESULTS 7/21

We held our monthly Deer Target Match today, 7/21.

  Coming out on top of the Factory Varmint Class was David Shaw of Curwensville, followed by Ed Rethi of Dixonville.

  The top gun in the Custom Class was Tyler Smith of Olanta. There was a tie between John Marr of Duncansville and Kim Wielder of Loganton.

  The side group match was won by Gene Delp of Knoxdale. He fired a 5 shot group, at 400 yards, that measured 1.075".

6/22 Tack Driver Lite RESULTS

We hosted the Northern Tack Driver Lite match on Saturday the 22nd. 40 competitors braved 90 degree heat for the match. There were shooters from PA, MD and OH.

  The overall winner was Mike Redin from Madisonburg. Following close behind was Joe Stewart, from Queenstown, MD, he also won the High Group Aggregate. Third place went to Jeremiah Keefe of Hastings, one of the clubs regular competitors.

  The winner of the smallest group of the day went to Steve Kaffana of Lititiz. He fired a 5 shot group, at 300 yards, that measured .494".

6/16 Deer Match RESULTS

We held our monthly 400 yard Deer 🦌 Target Match on Sunday the 16th. There were 14 shooters in attendance.

  Top shot in the Custom Class was Frank Carrier of Summerville. There was a tie for second between Mike Huth and Brian A. Kunselman , both from Punxsutawney. The winner of the Factory Varmint Class was David Shaw  of Curwensville and Joe Lash of Hillsdale.

  The side group match was won by Gene Delp of Brookville with a 5 shot group at 400 yards that measured .670".

2024 Fishing Derby

Our 2024 fishing derby was a great success. 65 kids were in attendance this year.

  For the second year in a row, Rori Deason of Rockton was our winner with a 20 1/4" large mouth bass.

  Age division winners were Hunter Moore, Grayson McCoy, Dalton Harman, Kora Sass, Axle Heckthorne and Willow Beck.

  I would like to thank our members for coming out and supporting the kids. Special thanks to my wife Karen Hamilton, Carolyn Spencer and her husband Ed Sugarbear Spencer and Mary Lynn Portzer.  

  A big thanks to the Clearfield Walmart, Dubois Walmart, Dubois Shop n Save and DEASONS Bait and Tackle Shop in Rockton for their generous donations.

Groundhog RESULTS 6/9

We held our first Groundhog Match of the year today, 6/9, and it was a wind fest. 24 shooters fought the blowing conditions all day.

  Coming out on top of the Custom Class was Delmas Burkett of Burkett Hollow. Second was Jon Pap, of Columbia, third was a tie between Gene Delp of Brookville and Joe Kramer of Loganton.

  First in Factory Varmint Class was Ed Rethi of Dixonville and second was Joe Lash of Hillsdale.

  The side group match was won by Kevin Dufford, of Karns City, with a 5 shot group at 300 yards that measured 1.108".

Deer Match 5/19 RESULTS

We held our first Deer Target Match of the season today, 5/19. There were 21 shooters in attendance.

  Austin Sass, of Olanta, was the top gun in the Custom Class. Second place was a tie between Jeremiah Keefe, of Hastings, and Jim Waltenbaugh of Apollo.

  Winning the Factory Varmint Class was Joe Lash, of Hillsdale. Second went to Ed Rethi, of Dixonville and third was David Shaw of Curwensville.

  The side group match was won by Alvin Lee of Duncansville. He fired a 5 shot group, @ 400 yards, that measured 0.874".

Big Catch!!

Jack Snyder, son member Zach and Amy Yutzey-Snyder, just caught this monster off the dock at the club.

  I think we might have a new record at the derby next month.

04/13 MATCH RESULTS

We held our final winter match of the season on Saturday the 13th. 18 competitors battled winds of 20 to 40 mph all day long. 

  Coming out on top of the Custom Class with the, score of 199 out of a possible 200, was Tyler Smith  of Glen Richey. There was a three-way tie for second, with identical scores of 198, between Frank Carrier of Summerville, Delmas Burkett  of Burkett, and Stu Smith of Hormtown.

  The Heavy Varmint Class was won by Caz Silvis of Brookville. Second and third were David Shaw  of Curwensville and Dean Brosius of Olivesburg.

  The side group match went Burkett with a 5 shot group, @ 200 yards, that measured .831".

FINAL WINTER MATCH 4/13 Balon $20 Bounty

April 13th will be our final Winter ❄️ Match of the year.

  Jack Balon has finished 1st at every match this year. It has been decided that there will be a $20.00 bounty on his head in addition to the 1st prize money.

Winter Match 3/9 RESULTS

We held our monthly Winter Match on Saturday, 3/9.

  At one time during the match we had to cease fire as some rescue boats winner by from all the rain. It was a nasty day.

  For the 3rd time this year, Jack Balon of Ebensburg was the winner Custom Class.  Joe Kramer, of Loganton, was second followed by Frank Carrier, of Summerville, was third.

  Factory Varmint Class winner Dwaine Roush, of Allensmills. Second went to Dean Brosius, of Olivesburg, and third place was Caz Silvis of Brookville.

  The group match winner was Bud Delp, of Sigle, with a 5 shot group @ 200 yards the measured .545".

Kill Phil Match Results

19 shooters showed up our second annual "Kill Phil" Groundhog Match. 

  Taking first place with a 208 was Jack Balon of Ebensburg.  Jeremiah Keefe of Hastings followed with a close second with a 207. Third place was a 4 way tie between Gina Kunselman  of Punxsutawney, David Shaw  of Curwensville, Stuart Smith of Reynoldsville and Steve Brennen of Ridgeway with identical 205's.

  Delmas Burkett  of Burkett Hollow won the group match with a 5 shot group, at 200 yards, that measured .410".

Kill Phil 2/10
