Member tickets are available for $20.00 for our December 16th members only drawing. The remaining unsold member tickets will be available for purchase at our December meeting.
New Business
The furnace fuel was checked and we still have ½ of a tank after 3 years. It was decided that we would wait before purchasing more fuel for this winter. Long time member George “Dudley” Shimmel passed away this week. Dudley had no immediate family members and the members agreed to buy a book for the library in his memory. Tom Hamilton will research the procedure and report to the December meeting. October 2017 Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order by Tom Hamilton at 7:30 p.m.
The September minutes were presented by Randy Mitchell and approved on a motion by Joel Dutra and a second by Shannon McKee. The treasurer’s report was presented by George McClure and approved on a motion by Breck Neeper and a second by Scott Brubaker.
Match Report
The Groundhog Match had 16 shooters. The deer rifle match had 7 shooters.
Old Business
The filters were changed in the tractor after it had ran out of fuel and it was found that they had not been replaced for some time. The water test was received and we had very good results. The sulfur was very low and the PH was in an acceptable range. There are 800 tickets distributed for the January raffle. Member tickets are available for $20.00 for our December 16th members only drawing. The member drawing will be for a Kimber Hunter Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. Jeremy Smith is organizing the fund rasing raffle for the trap thrower purchase. He reported on an 8 hour Lake Raystown fishing charter for 4 fisherman for $450 as a possible option.
New Business
Upon the Walt Kuzemchock recommendation that we lime the fields and around the pond, the members authorized the purchase of a load of lime from The Curwensville Feed Store. The fuel for the furnace needs checked before winter and we need several cans of fuel for the tractor. Members expressed concern about filling the 55 gallon drum with fuel and it becoming contaminated before use. Scott Brubaker reported on the recent CWD meeting held in DuBois. Most of the CWD problems are related to deer from deer farms. These farms fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Agriculture. Possible options to reduce the risk of CWD is to require deer farms to double fence or to completely shut them down. To express your views please contact your state representative Matt Gabler or Tommy Sankey.
