Kids & Adults enjoy great day of fishing!

We had a birthday party for my grandson at the club today, 6/30/2012, and had about 25 kids and adults fishing in our pond during the afternoon.

Pictured is Emma Leonard, daughter of Brian Leonard, with a beautiful largemouth bass she caught off the dock. Everyone that was fishing had a ball with non-stop action. This was a great test for our upcoming fishing derby.

We are still in need of a few more fishing rods for prizes and volunteers to help the day of the derby. I am going to have a work party the Saturday before the derby, 7/21 at 10:00 AM, to get the area around the pond ready.

Any member that has a weed eater or push mower they can bring up to help clear areas out for the kids would be greatly appreciated.

Sniper Match (winner takes all):
Tom Hamilton 48 - 1X

The sniper match continues to get good participation, and we will continue to shoot a relay at each match.

At our test sniper match on June 10, we had seven shooters competing. Walt Kuzemchock won the match with a score of 47 out of 50. All contestants were able to keep all shots within the scoring area, no easy task with the mirage.

We may make this a complete match for next year.

Anderson Creek Sportsmen
June 9th, 2012
 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Tom Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on June 9th, 2012

The May minutes were presented by Randy Mitchell and were approved on a motion by Joel Dutra and a second by Breck Neeper. The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Shannon McKee and a second by Roger Thomas.

Match Reports – There were no shooters for the rimfire match, the match dates conflict with a sanctioned match. A discussion was held concerning rescheduling the trap and rimfire matches to avoid conflicts. Walt reported 38 targets were shot for the deer rifle match. The inaugural sniper match will be held 6/10/2012. The 400 yard targets selected are equivalent to a 1200 yard competition target. Tom Noble reported the trap shoot had 9 shooters.

Tom Noble will not be able to attend the 6/24/12 trap shoot and after a discussion it was decided that the trap shoot will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.

 Old Business
Tom Hamilton was unable to repair the tractor. Marty Hrin made a motion to run the tractor to Bob Knisley to have it repaired. Andy Shaffer seconded the motion and it was approved. Rick Knisley volunteered to bring a trailer and haul the tractor to have it repaired.

Tom Hamilton asked for donations for the Youth Fishing Derby to be held on July 28th. The derby is open to children 12 and under and must be accompanied by an adult.  There will be prizes for the youngest, the biggest fish, the heaviest fish and catching a fish. Tom Noble will pick up 12 dozen night crawlers for the derby.

New Business
Tom Hamilton asked for volunteers to take the posts and fence that were around the apple trees and put them around the old well in the grove, to make it safer. Tom Hamilton has a new fire ring for the grove.

Marty Hrin volunteered a post hole digger for the holes for the backstop and Randy Mitchell will bring over a tractor to drill the holes.

Carl Huss volunteered to build a new door for the trap house. Joel Dutra reported that there a several broken trusses in the big pavilion roof. A crew will review the trusses and make arrangements for repair.

A sympathy card was circulated for the members to sign to be sent to Steve Beretsel Jr.. His father recently passed away after a car accident while on his way to the recent trap shoot.

Ed Gray, sponsored by Travis Spencer, appeared at the meeting for membership in the club. He was approved for membership.

Walt Kuzemchock won the prize drawing.

Joel Dutra made a motion to adjourn and Scott Hemminger seconded the motion

Respectfully submitted by Randy Mitchell secretary.
